High-gloss polished concrete floor showing fine aggregate exposure in an open-plan living area

Concrete polishing

Polished concrete suits kitchens, living areas, retail showrooms and any space where a hard, low-maintenance floor needs to look the part. The slab itself becomes the finish — no overlay, no covering — so you keep the thermal mass and lose the upkeep of timber or tiles.

We work through progressive diamond grits, refining the surface step by step until it reflects evenly. You choose the exposure level: cream for a smooth, uniform top; salt-and-pepper for a fine scatter of aggregate; or full exposure to bring the larger stones forward. Densifier and a polish guard go on once the surface is honed.

Slab age, condition and original finish all affect what's possible. We assess on site and confirm the exposure level before grinding starts, so the result matches what you've got in mind.

  • Cream, salt-and-pepper or full
  • High-gloss durable finish
  • Kitchens, living, retail
  • Low-maintenance

Matte honed concrete surface in a residential interior with soft, non-reflective finish

Concrete honing

Honing gives you the clean industrial look of polished concrete without the mirror reflection. It suits open-plan living, cafés, galleries and outdoor areas where glare would be a problem or where a softer surface reads better with the rest of the build.

The process runs the same diamond sequence as a full polish, stopped at a lower grit and finished with a penetrating sealer. The result is a matte to satin surface that's slip-resistant, easy to maintain and works on both new pours and older slabs.

Honed floors hide foot traffic and minor wear better than a high gloss, which is part of why they handle commercial spaces so well.

  • Indoor and outdoor
  • Slip-resistant satin finish
  • Lower maintenance than polish
  • New and existing slabs

Grind and seal

Grind and seal is the practical option when you want a tough, finished concrete floor without the cost of a full mechanical polish. It's a regular pick for garages, workshops, sheds, warehouses and back-of-house commercial areas.

We grind the slab to expose the aggregate to the level you want, patch any defects, then roll on a clear topcoat. The seal is acid-resistant and stands up to oil, chemicals and the kind of punishment a working floor takes. Turnaround is faster than a full polish.

When the seal eventually wears in high-traffic zones, it can be refreshed without redoing the grind — a straightforward maintenance path most other floor systems don't offer.

  • Acid-resistant seal
  • Garage and workshop
  • Faster than full polish
  • Easy to refresh later

Slip-rated honed concrete surround beside a backyard pool in Adelaide

Pool surrounds and wet areas

Pool surrounds, alfresco zones and bathroom floors all need a finish that stays safe when it's wet. We hone and seal these areas with slip-rated products designed for outdoor use and the Adelaide climate.

Work usually starts with levelling — older pool surrounds tend to dish or lift over time — followed by a honed surface and an outdoor-grade sealer. The finished floor reads as one consistent surface from the alfresco through to the coping, instead of a patchwork of pavers and tiles.

We can match exposure levels and tones to existing concrete inside the house if you want the indoor and outdoor floors to flow.

  • Slip-rated outdoor finish
  • Pool coating and levelling
  • Outdoor-grade sealers
  • Adelaide weather rated

Finished concrete shed floor resistant to oil and tyre marks, ready for daily use

Garage and shed floors

A finished garage or shed floor changes how you use the space. Oil drips wipe up, tyre marks don't grind in, and dropped tools don't chip the surface the way they do on raw concrete. Dust from a bare slab is gone too.

We grind the floor, patch any cracks or pitting, then apply a hard-wearing seal. There's a range of finishes available depending on whether you want an exposed-aggregate look, a smoother cream finish, or something in between. Both new pours and tired older slabs are workable.

Day to day, cleaning is a hose and a broom. That's the whole maintenance routine.

  • Oil and stain resistant
  • Hose-clean surface
  • New and old slabs
  • Range of finishes

Concrete repair and restoration

Aged or damaged slabs aren't always a tear-out job. Cracks, spalling, surface pitting, lifted joints — most of it can be repaired and brought back to a state where a polish, hone or seal will sit cleanly on top. That usually saves a significant amount against the cost of removal and a fresh pour.

We assess the slab, repair cracks and joints with the right filler for the movement involved, level low spots, and patch surface damage. The slab is then prepped to whatever finish you've chosen, whether that's a polish, a honed surface or a grind and seal.

Heritage floors and older industrial slabs are part of this work too — sometimes the marks of age are what makes the floor worth keeping.

  • Crack and joint repair
  • Surface levelling and patching
  • Pre-polish prep
  • Heritage and aged slabs
